I was born and raised right here on Bali's coast – I've been surfing these breaks since I was five years old. Teaching surfing is more than just a job for me — it's sharing my home and my culture with you. I love watching beginners catch their first wave, that moment when everything clicks and you feel the ocean carry you.

Whether you're standing up for the first time or working on advanced maneuvers, I'll be right there in the water with you, making sure you're safe, having fun, and actually improving. My goal is simple: by the end of camp, you'll surf better and understand the ocean better.

I'm from the Gold Coast originally – grew up surfing Snapper Rocks and Burleigh. Came to Bali for a two-week surf trip about seven years ago and just... never went home. The waves here are incredible, but honestly, it's the people and the lifestyle that got me.

I started coaching because I saw so many tourists getting terrible advice from random guys on the beach. I wanted to actually teach people properly – ocean safety, reading conditions, real technique. Whether you're catching your first wave or trying to nail a cutback, I'll break it down for you step by step. My job is to get you surfing better and keep you stoked the whole time.

Best decision I made this year. I was burnt out from work and needed a reset – this camp delivered exactly that. The coaches really know their stuff, the vibe is super chill, and I made friends from all over the world. Went from barely standing on a board to actually riding waves. Already booked my spot for next season.

I was nervous about traveling alone, but this crew made me feel at home immediately. We surfed every morning, explored the island, and had the kind of deep conversations you usually only have with old friends. Already planning my next trip back.

I came here just wanting to learn to surf, but left with so much more. The instructors are patient, the group became like family, and Bali is pure magic. I caught my first real wave on day three and cried happy tears. Can't wait to come back.

Frequently
Asked Questions

01

Do I need to know how to surf already?

Not at all! Most people who come are complete beginners or have only surfed a few times. Our instructors work with all levels, and we split into groups so you're learning with people at your pace. If you can swim and are willing to try, you're ready.

02

I'm traveling alone — will I feel out of place?

Actually, most people come solo. That's the beauty of it — everyone's in the same boat (or on the same board). By day two, it feels like you've known each other forever. Solo travelers often tell us this was the best decision they made.

03

What's not included in the price?

Lunches (we usually grab these together at local spots, budget $5–12), personal expenses like extra massages or shopping, travel insurance, and your flight to Bali. Everything else — accommodation, breakfast, dinner, surf lessons, activities, airport transfers — is covered.

04

What if the dates don't work for me?

We run multiple sessions throughout the year. If these dates don't fit your schedule, drop us a message and we'll let you know when the next camps are happening. You can also join our email list to be the first to know about new dates.

05

Is Bali safe for travelers?

Yes! Bali, especially Canggu, is very safe and welcoming to international travelers. The local community is used to surfers and tourists, and we'll be with you for most activities. We'll also give you a full safety briefing on day one covering everything from scooter riding to ocean awareness.

06

Can I extend my stay at the villa?

Sometimes! If the villa isn't booked for another camp immediately after, we can often arrange for you to stay a few extra nights at a discounted rate. Just let us know in advance and we'll check availability. Many people do this to explore Bali on their own after the camp ends.

Still have questions?

Whether it's about the program, accommodation, or anything in between — we're happy to help.

I want you to spend these days doing something real – catching waves, pushing past your comfort zone, hanging out with people who get it. When I came to Bali years ago, I wasn't looking for anything specific, but surfing here changed how I see things. Not in some cheesy way, just... different. Clearer.

And the crew here – we all work together to make sure you get the most out of every single day.

I'm basically living my dream job – I get to hang out at the beach all day, meet amazing people from all over the world, and tell their stories through photos and videos.

But what I love most is capturing that exact moment when someone stands up on a wave for the first time – the pure joy on their face is unreal. I also run our Instagram and make sure our community stays connected, so don't be shy to tag us in your posts!

I'm the guy you'll probably talk to first when you're thinking about joining us, and I promise I'll give it to you straight – no sales pitch, just honest advice about which program fits you best.

Once you're here, I'm all about making sure everyone feels welcome and the crew energy is right. Whether you need a pep talk before paddling out or just someone to grab a Bintang with after sunset, I've got you. Your experience matters to me, for real.

I know 'logistics' sounds boring, but trust me, it's what makes or breaks your trip. I'm obsessed with the details – making sure your room is ready, the surf spots match the conditions, breakfast is on time, and our drivers know exactly where to be.

I've been living in Bali for three years now, so I know all the hidden gems and local spots. Basically, I handle all the planning stress so you can just show up and have the best time.
A woman with short blonde hair winking and making an "OK" hand gesture while smiling in a lush green outdoor environment.
Sofia Bergman
I handle all the fun stuff – organizing beach bonfires, planning trips to temples or waterfalls, setting up morning yoga, hosting game nights, you name it.

Camp life is about balance, so while you're pushing yourself in the water, I make sure there's plenty of time to explore Bali, relax, and bond with the group. My goal is to keep the energy high and make sure everyone's having a great time on and off the board.
